WHEEL THROWING
6 Weeks of Classes / 6 Students Per Class
$450 Per Person / Ages 18 and up
WHEEL THROWING CLASS OPTIONS
Wheel Throwing - All Levels: 101 beginners pottery class will go over the basics in wheel throwing on the potters wheel. From wedging, centering and creating a piece of pottery to also covering surface treatments.
Each student to get their own shelf space for the 6 week duration of class + must be cleared out by the last class. Students are expected to pay for their clay. Firing fees are included in cost.
Wheel Throwing - Intermediate: Through teaching different forms and techniques, I aim for students to eventually find their own voice in clay. By exposing students to a breadth of both historical and contemporary ceramics – and how I’ve found inspiration for my own work – it helps to establish a foundation, as they learn and grow into their own work.
The purpose of this class is to show how you can combine proportion, form and glaze technique(s) to create functional wheel-thrown pottery for the table and the home.
Students will learn how to pull tall cylinders, create (and attach) handles, as well as discuss aesthetics in pottery.
